    Position Summary:

    Reporting to the Director of Campus Ministry for Lincoln Center, the Campus Ministry Program Assistant supports all Campus Ministry initiatives with specific attention to the facilitation of Lincoln Center’s Queer Spirit Community, support for Catholic Life and liturgy, and coordinating Campus Ministry’s social media strategy while working collaboratively with a multi-faith staff and a student worker team.

    This position is a part-time (18 hours per week), 10-month position (mid-August to mid-June) based fully in-person at Fordham’s Lincoln Center campus and is subject to reappointment each year. This position will require occasional evening, weekend, and holiday hours.

    Essential Functions:

    • Develops and facilitates Campus Ministry at Lincoln Center’s Queer Spirit Community offering weekly or biweekly gatherings, outings, support, and other programming based on needs assessment, ideation, and consultation with group members and relevant constituencies.
    • Supports Catholic Life initiatives including the Catholic Student Fellowship (CSF) and support for/presence at select Sunday evening Masses and CSF meetings.
    • Spearheads Campus Ministry’s social media outreach initiatives including organizing a social media strategy for student interns to implement.
    • Assists with the planning, promotion, and implementation of select CM at LC programming (such as Muslim Life, Jewish Life, service and justice initiatives, retreats, and spiritual programs/workshops, etc.), including some evening and weekend events in collaboration with student leaders and/or relevant clubs or organizations and constituencies.
    • Supports the implementation of outreach initiatives both active (in-person) and passive (i.e. through media including bulletin boards, social media, newsletters, etc.)
    • Represents Campus Ministry at occasional info sessions and tabling fairs.
    • Provides a proactive approach to administrative responsibilities, planning, project management and support for current and new Campus Ministry Lincoln Center initiatives; assists with daily office responsibilities; and performs other duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Graduate degree in-progress preferred.
    • Some experience with spiritual programs and/or work with undergraduate students or young adults, preferably in a Catholic and Jesuit university context; familiarity with Ignatian spirituality and social justice.
    • Proficiency in Google Sheets/Docs/etc. and contemporary social media platforms
      Strong administrative skills
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
      Collaborative team-player; reliable; ability to work well independently

  • Institute of International Humanitarian Affairs (IIHA)

    Responsibilities

    The Course Administrator will provide full support to the Mental Health in Complex Emergencies (MHCE) program, reporting primarily to Course Director and IIHA Executive Director, but also providing support to all Course Directors. The Course Administrator will interact with participants, faculty, tutors, and all those involved with the MHCE program. This position requires discipline, attention to details, flexibility and working ability of academic technology, most especially Blackboard, PowerPoint, and Zoom.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

    • Providing administrative support to the MHCE Course Directors and other tutors and faculty of the MHCE course
    • Collaborating with Course Directors and faculty to upload and maintain all Blackboard lectures, etc.
    • Arranging and directing all ZOOM meetings
    • Coordinating and formatting the course program, participant lists, and all course materials;
    • Creating and updating the Course Google Sites with necessary materials
    • Managing a high volume of correspondence between the Course Directors and lecturers and participants
    • Providing prompt and efficient responses to participant inquiries and requests
    • Serving as a liaison between the IIHA Office and the faculty and participants
    • Facilitating communication between participants via established social media platforms

    Qualifications

    University degree required. Applicants must have a comprehensive knowledge of the United Nations and other international government donors and non-governmental organizations. Must be able to adapt to various working environments and effectively multitask and prioritize. Must possess knowledge of Blackboard, ZOOM and Power Point, have excellent interpersonal skills, current political events and the major players in the humanitarian aid field.

  • Part-Time/Hourly (<19 hours/week maximum)/Non-benefited

    Primary Purpose:

    The Graduate Assistant for the Center for Community Engaged Learning (CCEL) will work with the Associate Director in building the structure of the CCEL through administrative and organizational support vital to the success and advancement of the Center’s mission and programming. Areas of responsibility will include research, data management, organizational development, and follow-up with key constituents, including faculty members. This is a part-time, fixed-term, hourly position (not to exceed more than 19 hours a week) and will report to the Center for Community Engaged Learning. Flexibility to work between both the Rose Hill and Lincoln Center campuses is required. 

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    1. Provides organizational and programmatic support for the Associate Director and other team members; builds out smooth processes and supports Center operations.

    2. Connects with internal and external on behalf of the Associate Director, Executive Director, and other team members; supports events, meetings, and other Center priorities.

    3. Develops programs and events in coordination with leadership.
      Collects data connected to engaged scholarship.

    4. Conducts research concerning faculty work and engaged scholarship best practices.
      Carries out other duties as assigned by the Associate Director.

    Specific Responsibilities:

    A. Provides organizational and programmatic support to the Associate Director

    1. Work directly with the Associate Director to organize and create programs for faculty-engaged scholarship.

    2. Handle the logistical elements for various CCEL programs.

    3. Develop timelines and processes for the Engaged Scholars Committee.

    4. Take meeting notes and correspond with key constituents for CCEL.

    B. Provide operational and communication support for the Post-secondary Pathways Engaged Tours and Programs. 

    1. Work directly with the Assistant Director of Programs and Operations to schedule Engaged tours and programming, primarily at the Rose Hill campus. 

    2. Responsible for all correspondence with schools and organizations who share an interest in participating in a tour. 

    3. Communicate with CCEL Ambassadors and provide support throughout the Engaged tour process.

    4. Liaise with Fordham departments to facilitate tours. 

    5. Curate a list of workshops and topics for engaged tours.

    C. Connects with on-campus partners on behalf of leadership.

    1. Conduct follow-up on behalf of the center with CCEL constituents.

    2. Initiate contact with partners and stakeholders via email, phone, and correspondence.

    D. Develops programs and events in coordination with the leadership.

    1. Work collaboratively with the AD to plan meetings, events, and receptions.

    2. Develop a strategy with the AD and the Engaged Scholarship Committee to create programs for faculty and community members.

    E. Collects data connected to engaged scholarship.

    1. Assist in cataloging all courses with engaged scholarship elements.

    2. Collect examples of faculty community-engaged research and teaching in the Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester, and globally.

    3. Develop a list of monetary and other resources for faculty.

    F. Conducts research concerning faculty work and engaged scholarship best practices.

    1. Search peer-reviewed articles and academic resources that could be useful for the CCEL model.

    2. Review national models of engaged scholarship and find lessons that could be used at Fordham.

    3. Carries out other duties as assigned.

  • Campion Institute / Office of Fellowship Advising

    Anticipated hours:

    • Summer 20 hours/week
    • Semester: 9 hours/week

    Job duties:

    Conduct remote or in-person advising sessions with students and recent graduates applying for nationally competitive awards, such as Fulbright, Critical Language Scholarship, and Truman:

    • review application materials
    • discuss drafts of essays and short answers drafts
    • encourage candidates through motivational interviewing and equity-informed approaches.

    Meet regularly with other Campion team members to strategize about applications and outreach.

    Work alongside other Campion team members to plan, organize, and lead monthly writing workshops and informational sessions for applicants, over Zoom or in person.

    Collaborate with an undergraduate work-study student to manage the fellowship blog and put out 1-2 posts per month; this is done via email and monthly Zoom meetings.

    Advise Campion team on, and help create, additional website and social media content.

    Qualifications:

    Current doctoral student in English, Education, or related field. Experience working with undergraduate and graduate students of diverse backgrounds, interests, and identities. Experience guiding students in their writing, particularly with personal statements and research statements. Familiarity with nationally competitive fellowships a plus.

    Job Summary
    This position will work with the Fulbright Outreach and Recruitment department. The Fulbright Program is the flagship international academic exchange program sponsored by the United States Government.     The Assistant Director develops an outreach plan to reach diverse audiences of prospective applicants and to expand Fulbright’s engagement with higher education institutions in the U.S. Additionally, the Assistant Director executes a comprehensive recruitment plan that leverages the campus network of Fulbright Scholar Liaisons and that supports individual applicants through application advising, virtual activities and digital resources.

    The Assistant Director leads a team of outreach and recruitment professionals and collaborates across Fulbright teams to advance the Program’s mission and goals. The Assistant Director works closely with Fulbright Program’s sponsor, the U.S. Department of State.

    Essential Functions

    • Develops an annual calendar of recruitment activities aimed at qualified faculty and professionals to generate interest Fulbright Program. These may include targeted webinars, campus visits, and prospect management. Develops virtual and in-person trainings for Fulbright Scholar Liaisons with an emphasis on developing support for institutions that are traditionally underrepresented in international exchange.
    • Develops and coordinates mentorship activities for applicants.
    • Sets strategy and implements programs for alumni (including Alumni Ambassadors); develops strategic alliances and collaborations with value-aligned organizations and alumni-led groups; seeks new ways to grow these collaborations and finds additional opportunities for bringing Fulbright to new audiences.
    • Directs the creation and management of a robust suite of digital resources to assist applicants in navigating the application process, including instructional manuals, tutorial videos, live/ recorded webinars, and FAQs.
    • Conducts market research to identify trends and opportunities in the higher education industry that impact prospective applicants and creates initiatives to address these needs.
    • Analyzes data and key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of recruitment and outreach initiatives and adjusts strategies as needed.
    • Responsible for complying with applicable contract and sponsor requirements and ensuring that services rendered align with all IIE policies and procedures. 
    • Responsible for program budgeting and oversight.

    Job Requirements

    Qualifications and Experience:
    Education and Work Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Master’s degree preferred.
    • 5-10 years of relevant experience preferred.

    • Experience in or closely related to higher education institutions.
    • Experience setting and implementing strategy and goals in a rapidly changing environment and under tight deadlines.
