2024 SFS Career Fair
From January 8th to 10th, 2024, SFS students participated in the SFS Job Fair, an enriching event where they had the invaluable opportunity to network with seasoned cybersecurity professionals and fellow SFS peers. This experience expanded their professional networks and provided a platform for them to exchange ideas and insights with experts and contemporaries in cybersecurity.

Fireside Chat with Industry Experts
On October 30th, the Fordham Center for Cybersecurity culminated its celebration of Cybersecurity Awareness Month with a series of notable events. The finale was a fireside chat, offering students a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations with leading professionals in the cybersecurity industry. This event served as a platform for students to receive valuable career advice and mentorship, helping them to navigate their future in this dynamic and critical field.
2023 Aspen Cyber Summit
On November 15th, 2023, a group of SFS students had the remarkable opportunity to attend the Aspen Cyber Summit. This summit allowed them to immerse themselves in the latest discussions about emerging challenges in cybersecurity, innovative technologies, and evolving threats in the digital landscape. The summit provided an invaluable learning experience, exposing students to thought leaders and pioneers in the field. This experience broadened their understanding of current cybersecurity issues and offered a glimpse into future trends and solutions in this ever-evolving sector.
Fall Faculty Talks
On November 30th, SFS students had the enriching opportunity to engage in our faculty talks, an event dedicated to exploring the forefront of cybersecurity research. During this session, they delved into contemporary topics led by our expert faculty, including game theory, adversarial attacks, and the application of AI and Machine Learning in securing cyberspaces. This experience provided them with a deeper understanding of cutting-edge research and developments in the field of cybersecurity.
IT/Cyber Seminar
On October 19th, students attended a remarkable IT/Cybersecurity seminar. This event was a collaborative effort between the Fordham Center for Cybersecurity and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of NYC. The seminar featured Chief Ruben Beltran from the NYPD Chief Information Technology Office, who delivered an insightful talk on "Cyber Threats and How the NYPD Works to Protect NYC and Its Community." This session gave our students a unique perspective on law enforcement's cybersecurity and community protection role.

Career Awareness Program
On March 30th, one SFS student delivered an enlightening career awareness talk to Forrest Hills High School students. The session centered around the vast array of opportunities within the cybersecurity field, emphasizing the critical need for highly skilled professionals. Additionally, valuable insights were shared regarding government-sponsored initiatives such as the SFS scholarship, highlighting the remarkable opportunities they offer.
2023 International Conference on Cyber Security (ICCS): Special Event
On March 16th, 2 SFS students attended a special event at the ICCS conference. The Federal Bureau of Investigation, New York Division, has teamed with Fordham University’s Department of Computer and Information Sciences to unite two global leaders in emerging cyber threat analysis and enforcement.
Scholarship For Service Job Fair 2023
From January 11th to 13th 2023, all of the SFS students attended the Scholarship For Service job fair. It was an enriching experience for all of them. They were able to participate in all the agency service information sessions to obtain more knowledge about various federal agencies. Moreover, they learned about all the cybersecurity job opportunities all the federal agencies are offering. Students were accompanied by Dr. Thaier Hayajneh (PI) and Dr. Gary Weiss (Co-PI) for the CyberCorps: Scholarship For Service program.
Graduate School Computer Science & Cybersecurity Networking Event
On December 10th, 2022, Fordham's Graduate School for Art and Science, with the conjunction between the computer science and cybersecurity masters program, offered an end-of-the-semester networking event for all students in both master programs. Five out of seven SFS students attended the event. They learned about current job opportunities in the private and public sectors. Moreover, they were able to network with current cybersecurity experts working in the field to learn more about their work perspective in the work area.
2022 Aspen Cyber Summit
On November 16th, two of our seven SFS students attended the 2022 Aspen summit. They learned about various topics currently affecting the cybersecurity industry and new methods to protect our privacy. They were also able to interact with current DoD guest speakers who provided them with an overview of real job experience.
