On May 6th, 4SFS attended our second networking event, hosted in conjunction with the cybersecurity club and the center for cybersecurity.
Spring NCL competition
On April 17th, 5 SFS students competed in the National Cyber League Competition.

Spring Data Science Symposium
On April 4th, 2023, 3 SFS students attended the Data Science Symposium where they learned about current ongoing research involving data science and cybersecurity.
Spring 2023 Cybersecurity Club Board
Since Spring 2023, the Fordham Cybersecurity Club has been led by a dynamic trio of SFS students who hold key positions within the club. With their respective roles as President, Vice-President, and Public Relations Officer, our current student leaders bring invaluable expertise and dedication to drive the success of the club.
2023 International Conference on Cyber Security (ICCS): Special Event
On March 16th, 2 SFS students attended a special event at the ICCS conference. The Federal Bureau of Investigation, New York Division, has teamed with Fordham University’s Department of Computer and Information Sciences to unite two global leaders in emerging cyber threat analysis and enforcement.
Career Awareness Program
On March 30th, one SFS student delivered an enlightening career awareness talk to Forrest Hills High School students. The session centered around the vast array of opportunities within the cybersecurity field, emphasizing the critical need for highly skilled professionals. Additionally, valuable insights were shared regarding government-sponsored initiatives such as the SFS scholarship, highlighting the remarkable opportunities they offer.
On January 11th to 13th 2023, all of the SFS students attended the Scholarship For Service job fair. It was an enriching experience for all of them. They were able to participate in all the agency service information sessions to obtain more knowledge about various federal agencies. Moreover, they learned about all the cybersecurity job opportunities all the federal agencies are offering. Students were accompanied by Dr. Thaier Hayajneh (PI) and Dr. Gary Weiss (Co-PI) for the CyberCorps: Scholarship For Service program.
On December 10th, 2022, Fordham's Graduate School for Art and Science, with the conjunction between the computer science and cybersecurity masters program, offered an end-of-the-semester networking event for all students in both master programs. Five out of seven SFS students attended the event. They learned about current job opportunities in the private and public sectors. Moreover, they were able to network with current cybersecurity experts working in the field to learn more about their work perspective in the work area.
On November 16th, two of our seven SFS students attended the 2022 Aspen summit. They learned about various topics currently affecting the cybersecurity industry and new methods to protect our privacy. They were also able to interact with current DoD guest speakers who provided them with an overview of real job experience.
On October 18, 2022, The Fordham ISACA student club hosted a networking event where students could meet different cybersecurity professionals and learn about job opportunities and the work they do. Six out of the seven students attend this event.
Students learned about research topics such as Al, Blockchain, and Cryptography. The talks were presented by current Fordham Faculty professors researching those topics. Our speakers for this event were current Fordham faculties for the Computer and Information Science Department, Dr. Ruhul Amin, Dr. Juntao Chen, and Dr. Mohamed Rahoui.
