Cyber 9/12 Competition
On September 12th, 2022, Students from the Cybersecurity Master’s Program participated in the 2022 NYC Cyber Strategy Challenge competition.
CTF Event
On September 30th, 2022, The Fordham Center for Cybersecurity student club conducted a CFT workshop. Students could see walkthroughs of example CTF problems and ask questions about them in an informal setting. Topics covered included Open-Source Intelligence, Cryptography, Password Cracking, Log Analysis, Scanning, Enumeration & Exploitation, Network Traffic Analysis, Forensics, Web Application Security, and Malware Analysis.
NCL Workshop preparation
The Fordham Center For Cybersecurity student club prepared three mini-workshops to help students prepare for the National Cybersecurity League games. A total of 21 students participated in the 2022 NCL competition.
Fall 2022 Networking Event
On October 18, 2022, The Fordham Center for Cybersecurity student club hosted a networking event where students could meet different cybersecurity professionals and learn about job opportunities and their work. Current faculty members of the Cybersecurity Master’s Program also attended this event, where they provided their expertise from an academic perspective. This event also included the participation of professionals from the private sector and the government sector. We had members of the DoD and DOJ attend this event.
Spring 2023 Class Registration Event
On November 10th, 2022, the Fordham Center for Cybersecurity hosted a registration mixer event, where students obtained guidance on all the courses offered for the Cybersecurity M.S. spring 2023 semester.
The 2022 Aspen Cybersecurity Summit
On November 16th, students from the Cybersecurity Master’s program were invited to the 2022 Aspen Cyber summit. Students learned about various topics affecting the cybersecurity industry and new ways to protect our privacy. They also interacted with current DoD guest speakers who gave them an overview of actual job experience.
Hands-on Cryptography and Bash Scripting Fundamentals workshop
On November 18th, 2022, The Fordham Center for Cybersecurity club conducted a hands-on cryptography and bash scripting workshop. The workshop includes cryptography topics, including encryption/decryption, key generation, key exchange, hashing, and message authentication.
Second Cybersecurity Networking Event
On December 10th, 2022, our Graduate School for Art and Science, with the conjunction between the computer science and cybersecurity master’s programs, offered an end-of-the-semester networking event for all students in both master programs.
Spring 2023 First Networking Event
On February 16th, the Fordham Center for Cybersecurity conducted the first networking event of the year for students in the Cybersecurity master’s program. Students were able to learn about new career fairs for this semester, connect with other students in the program who are conducting reach, and learn about their possible areas of research opportunities.
2023 CyberSEED competition
On March 4th, 2023, students in our cybersecurity master’s program participate in the 2023 cyber seed CTF event. Students learn topics in open-source intelligence, digital forensics, cryptography, and web development.
2023 International Conference on Cyber Security (ICCS): Special Event
On March 16th, students from our cybersecurity Master’s program attended a special event at the ICCS conference. The Federal Bureau of Investigation, New York Division, has teamed with Fordham University’s Department of Computer and Information Sciences to unite two global leaders in emerging cyber threat analysis and enforcement.
Spring Data Science Symposium
On April 4th, 2023, MSCY students attended the Data Science Symposium
Spring NCL Competition
On April 17th, 2023, MSCY students participated in the Spring 2023 NCL competition.
